Tariq Lamptey provided an assist as Brighton & Hove Albion saw off Liverpool 2-1 in the fourth round of FA Cup at the Amex Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds last away game in the Premier League was against the Seagulls and it ended in a heavy 3-0 loss.
The South Coast outfit were without influential Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo who handed in a transfer request following heavy interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.
Liverpool were in control of this game from the start and took the lead in the 30th minute when Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah found Harvey Elliott and the English teenager finished off the rest.
The lead was shortlived as Brighton equalised nine minutes later with Ghana international Lamptey rifling in a shot from distance that took a touch off skipper Lewis Dunk. It was ultimately awarded to the English centre-back.

It seemed the game was destined for a replay at Anfield until Japanese sensation Kaoru Mitoma pooped up with the winner in stoppage time.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men will host Bournemouth next in the Premier League while Jurgen Klopp’s side make another tough trip, this time to Wolverhampton Wanderers, whom they narrowly beat in the previous round.
