Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa has pledged a $150,000 bonus to the the national team if they beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo next Tuesday, Afrosport reports
Mnangagwa’s pledge was announced in a statement by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
The Warriors currently occupy bottom spot in Group C with three points from five games, making the clash against the Super Eagles a must-win for the Southern African nation.
“The Government of Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its commitment to national football by extending significant financial support to the Warriors ahead of their upcoming crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers,“ read a post by ZIFA on X.
“In recognition of the team’s efforts and as a gesture of encouragement, His Excellency, President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, has offered a winning bonus of US$150 000 to the players, technical team and support staff, for each victory in their upcoming matches against Benin and Nigeria.”

Both teams played a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in Butare, Rwanda back in November 2023.
