2026WCQ: Chelle names Adams, Arokodare in 39-man provisional Super Eagles squad list

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has released a 39-man provisional squad list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, Afrosport reports.

The list sees a first-time call-up for Sevilla forward Akor Adams and Belgian Pro League top scorer Tolu Arokodare of Genk. There are also maiden call-ups for Papa Daniel Mustapha, Chrisantus Uche, Anthony Dennis, Igoh Ogbu and  Jordan Torunarigha.

Former captain Ahmed Musa was also included in the list while there was a recall for Paul Onuachu, Cyriel Dessers, Umar Sadiq and Zaidu Sanusi.

The list is however headlined by regular names like Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi, captain William Troost-Ekong and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

The 39-man provisional list is expected to be trimmed down before Nigeria faces Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on March 21.

The three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners will host Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo three days later.
