Current Africa Cup of Nations holders Ivory Coast reclaimed top spot in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after recorded a 1-0 win over the Gambia on Monday, Afrosport reports.
Sebastien Haller’s 15th minute strike was all the Elephants needed to move one point clear of Gabon.
Meanwhile, four-time African champions Ghana went five points clear at the top of Group I after recording a solid 3-0 away win against Madagascar. Thomas Partey scored a brace and Mohammed Kudus scored the other while Jordan Ayew assisted for all three goals.
The other Group I game saw Mali and Central African Republic play out a goalless draw while in Group A, Burkina Faso defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-1 and Ethiopia thumped Djibouti 6-1.

In Group H, Namibia and Equatorial Guinea played out a 1-1 draw in Johannesburg while Liberia overcame Sao Tome and Principe 2-1 and Tunisia defeated 10-man Malawi 2-0 to go four points clear at the top.
