Denis Bouanga found the back of the net three times as Gabon defeated Seychelles 4-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
The Los Angeles FC star scored all three goals in the first half. The first goal came after just four minutes before adding the other two in the 34th and 38th minute.
It took the 30-year-old to 16 international goals in 46 caps. Bouanga is now also the leading scorer in the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers with eight goals in seven games, two goals clear of Egypt superstar Mohamed Salah.
It is also the first hat-trick of Bouanga’s international career having only previously scored a brace in the reverse fixture against Seychelles which ended 2-0.
Yannis M’bemba scored the final goal of Wednesday’s victory to send the Panthers top of Group F, two points clear of Ivory Coast whom they host in Libreville next Tuesday.
