Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Wednesday, ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming matches in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following the difficulties surrounding players arrival, the two stars’ arrival took the number of players in the Nigerian camp to 22, with only Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye yet to touchdown.

Iwobi has been an ever-present in the Eagles ranks since he made his debut in 2015, and he will be looking to earn his 79th and 80th caps for Nigeria.
Lookman, who was one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier this year, is arguably the most in-form Eagles forward with five goals and two assists in three games, including scoring a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final that earned Atalanta their first European title.
Nigeria will be up against South Africa on Friday, June 7, in matchday 3 action at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, before taking on Benin Republic in Abidjan three days later.
The Super Eagles are currently third in Group C with two points from two games, with the Bafana Bafana in second with three points, while Rwanda sits atop the group with four points.
