2026 WCQ: Osimhen, Lookman lead Super Eagles attack against Rwanda in Uyo

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman and will lead the attack as the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Rwanda in a crunch 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday evening, Afrosport reports.

Playing off the 2023 and 2024 African Player of the Year is Paris FC forward Moses Simon.

The midfield comprises of Fulham’s Alex Iwobi, Brentford’s Frank Onyeka and Besiktas’ Wilfred Ndidi, who captains the side.

The defence is made of Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina, Fulham’s Calvin Bassey, Brentford loanee Benjamin Fredrick and Olympiacos’ Bruno Onyemaechi while Chippa United’s number one Stanley Nwabali maintains his place in goal.

Nigeria are in dire need of maximum points as they are currently nine points behind South Africa who defeated Lesotho 3-0 in Friday’s game in Bloemfontein.


The two rivals will meet again in Bloemfontein on Tuesday with the result poised to determine the fate of who grabs the sole automatic berth in Group C.
