Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy finished in 21st place in the 2025 Ballon d’Or for the best men’s player in the world, Afrosport reports.
The 29-year-old Guinean had a stellar 2024-25 campaign as he scored 38 goals in 50 competitive appearances, making him the highest scoring African in Europe’s top five leagues.
Of those 38 goals, 21 were scored in 30 Bundesliga games which was the second highest tally in the German top flight behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (26 goals).
Guirassy also scored 13 goals in the UEFA Champions League, finishing as joint top scorer with Barcelona’s Raphinha and became the highest-scoring African in Europe’s premier club competition in a single season.

He finished ahead of notable stars such as Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham (23rd), Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (26th), then-Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz (29th) and Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise (30th).
