Some of the new faces in the preliminary squad include Stellenbosch F’s Sage Stephens, Polokwane City FC duo Thabang Matuludi and Ndamulelo Maphangule, and Richards Bay FC forward Yanela Mbuthuma.

Minnesota United forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane has also been included after impressing in Major League Soccer in the United States. Al Ahly forward Percy Tau also returns after missing last month’s qualifiers against the Republic of Congo.
