The 2022 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations will start in Mozambique on Friday with seven countries competing for glory in the beautiful city of Vilankulos.
The competition will be the fifth edition of the celebration of beach soccer organised by CAF on the continent.
It was formerly hosted by Beach Soccer Worldwide as an African qualifier for FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup before CAF renamed it as Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) in 2016.
Senegal are currently the dominant country in the competition with six titles and they won the last edition on their home soil in 2021.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
Following the withdrawal of two-time winners Nigeria for unknown reasons, seven countries will participate in this year’s competition which serves as African qualifier for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Mozambique – hosts, Morocco, Uganda, Senegal, Malawi, Egypt and Madagascar.

KICK-OFF
The opening ceremony of the 2022 edition will take place on Friday, October 21 with host country Mozambique taking on Malawi by 1.30pm – Nigerian time.
