William Troost-Ekong believes the Super Eagles are determined to give their all when they face Benin Republic in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo on Tuesday, Afrosport reports.

Nigeria, currently third in Group C with 14 points, must beat their West African neighbours and hope South Africa drop points against Rwanda to secure qualification.

Captain Troost-Ekong acknowledged that the team’s fate is not entirely in their hands but vowed that the players will fight until the end.

“There are players here who want to make names for themselves, and those who will want their names to go down well in history,” he said at Monday’s pre-match conference. So, they are fully prepared and will play to win.

“[Tuesday’s match] may not be 100 per cent in our hands, but we try to do our best and win the match.”

The Super Eagles will take on Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with kick-off set for 5 p.m. local time.
