Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has returned from the mandatory summer break in optimistic mood, making a call to keep going despite his difficult start to life with Scuderia Ferrari, Afrosport reports.
The 40-year-old has failed to stand on the podium after 14 races and is currently sixth in the drivers’ championship, 42 points behind teammate Charles Leclerc and 175 points behind current leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren.
He finished a distant 12th at the last race in Hungary, describing himself as useless and suggesting Ferrari needed another driver over him.
Hamilton has however taken time to reflect and is now filled with more positivity for the remaining 10 races of the 2025 season.
“I’m always so grateful for this time, for the opportunity to rest and recharge,” he said in an Instagram post. “There’s a lot I’ve been meditating on. Every one of us is up against so much, both individually and globally.
“It’s so important that we embrace the light of truth and love and take care of ourselves so that we can better take care of others. We can’t look away. We have to keep going, even when it’s difficult.”
The F1 paddock will head to Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend.
