Super Falcons hold first training with 18 players in camp for Cameroon clash

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have touched down in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place from 5 to 26 July 2025, Afrosport reports.

The nine-time African champions, drawn alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana in Group B, will play all their group games in Casablanca.

22 players and team officials reportedly made the trip to Casablanca on Wednesday from Lisbon, where they played out a goalless draw against Portugal on Monday, 23 June.

Meanwhile, seven other players, including the US-based trio Asisat Oshoala, Michelle Alozie and Deborah Abiodun, arrived in Casablanca on Tuesday.

Justine Madugu’s side will battle Ghana’s Black Queens in their final pre-tournament friendly on Sunday.

The Super Falcons will begin their WAFCON 2024 campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, 6 July, at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

They will play Botswana in their second game on 10 July, before facing Algeria in their final group match three days later.
