Vinicius Jr. calm about his Real Madrid future amid Saudi interest

Vinicius Jr. says he is calm about his future at Real Madrid amid increased interest from the Saudi Pro League, Afrosport reports.

The Brazilian superstar has been a key cog for Los Blancos for the past seven seasons, helping the Spanish capital outfit to 14 titles including two Champions League and three La Liga crowns.

Vinicius has a contract that ties him to the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2027 but has seen clubs from the lucrative Saudi Pro League interested in acquiring his services.

The 25-year-old however does not have the intention of leaving Madrid.

“I’m very calm because I have a contract until 2027 and I hope we will renew it as soon as possible because I’m happy here,” he said ahead of Madrid’s Champions League round of 16 tie against city rivals Atletico Madrid.

“I’m living a dream: I’m playing with the best players in the world, the best coach, the best president, the best fans. Everyone loves me so much. I couldn’t be anywhere better than here.”

Vinicius has come under scrutiny for his reputation of throwing tantrums on the pitch when things do not go his way. He stated that it was only a normal reaction but is working on trying to be calmer.

“It’s normal. I get heated during the games because I just want to win the games. I do many things that I shouldn’t do, but I think I’m doing better every game. I’m trying to stay calmer,” he added.

“My teammates help me with their calm and I’m getting better, eventually. I’ve been here for quite a long time already, but people forget that I’m just 24 years old and I still have a lot to learn. I’m learning.”

Vinicius has scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists in 35 competitive games this season.
