Vincent Aboubakar scored a brace but it was not enough for Hatayspor as they lost 5-4 away at Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday evening, Afrosport reports.
The match was full of drama starting from the eighth minute when Costa Rica defender Francisco Calvo was given a straight red card for Hatayspor.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the visitors took a 2-0 lead through Bilal Boutobba and Cemail Sertel, Aboubakar providing the assist for the first goal.
The lead was however short-lived as Haris Hajradinovic and Cameroon’s Guy-Marcelin Kilama leveled matters.
Sertel then had a goal disallowed by VAR for offside in the 42nd minute before Vincent Aboubakar put Hatayspor 3-2 up in the 11th minute of added time.
Aytac Kara put Kasimpasa level for 3-3 in the 53rd minute only for 33-year-old Aboubakar to complete his brace five minutes later, taking his tally to five goals and two assists in 16 Super Lig games this season.
That would be as far as Hatayspor would go as Mali’s Mamadou Fall and Brazilian Claudio Winck scored to secure the three points for Kasimpasa.
