UEL/UECL: Aston Villa to face Lille in last 16; Palace battle AEK Larnaca

UCL: Lookman provides assist as Atletico Madrid cruise into round of 16

Aston Villa will get to face Lille in the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League following the draws which took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, Afrosport reports.

Villa finished in the top eight in the league phase while Lille needed extra time to see off Serbian side Red Star Belgrade 2-1 on aggregate in the knockout playoffs.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest will get to play FC Midtjylland after dispatching Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the knockout playoffs.

Other round of 16 fixtures will see Genk face Freiburg, Bologna and Roma meet in an all-Italian tie while Real Betis take on Panathinaikos, Ferencvaros tackle Braga, Celta Vigo face Olympique Lyon and Stuttgart battle FC Porto.


The first leg will be played on March 12, with the second leg taking place on March 19.

Elsewhere in the UEFA Conference League, Crystal Palace have been handed a tie with Cypriot side AEK Larnaca in the round of 16.

French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg will take on Croatian outfit Rijeka while Fiorentina face Rakow of Poland. Sparta Prague have been pitted against AZ Alkmaar, whilst AEK Athens battle Celje.

Spanish La Liga side Rayo Vallecano will face Samsunspor, while Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk tackle Lech Poznan from neighbouring Poland and Czech side Sigma Olomouc have a date with Mainz of Germany.


The Conference League round of 16 first leg and second leg will be on same day with the Europa League.
