UEL: Moroccoʼs Igamane on target in Lille win over Brannn

Morocco forward Hamza Igamane scored his first European goal for Lille as they defeated Norwegian side Brann in their UEFA Europa League league phase opener on Thursday, Afrosport reports.

The 22-year-old scored on his debut for the French club with a brace in a 7-1 Ligue 1 win at Lorient before the September international break.

He got his first European goal for Les Dogues, with a tap in from a Mathias Fernandez-Pardo cross in the 54th. Saevar Magnusson equalised for Brann on the hour mark but Lille were back in front when Veteran forward Olivier Giroud scored the winner in the 80th minute.

In other league phase results on Thursday, Aston Villa defeated Bologna 1-0, likewise Genk against 10-man Rangers, FCSB against Go Ahead Eagles, Porto against Salzburg and Olympique Lyon against FC Utrecht.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Rafiu Durosinmi scored his seventh goal of the season in Viktoria Plzen’s 1-1 draw with 10-man Ferencvaros while Algerian winger Badredine Bouanani and Moroccan attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss scored in Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.


Another Moroccan, Anass Zaroury, on loan from RC Lens, scored a hat-trick in Panathinaikos’ 4-1 over Swiss side Young Boys.
