Three Nigerians either scored or assisted in helping their sides reach the round of 16 in the UEFA Europa League after Thursday’s knockout playoffs second leg encounters, Afrosport reports.
Bamidele Yusuf provided an assist in Ferencvaros’ 2-0 win over Ludogorets. He also scored in the first leg 2-1 defeat, with the Hungarian giants ultimately pulling through 3-2 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, Yira sor was on target in Genk’s 3-3 extra time draw with Dinamo Zagreb. The Belgian side had won the first leg 3-1 away from home before losing the return leg on home soil by the same scoreline at the end of regular time.

Genk were however able to re-establish their aggregate lead thanks to a Matteo Perez Vinlof own goal and a Dan Heymans strike while Dinamo Zagreb were reduced to 10 men in extra time after Luka Stojkovic got a straight red card.
Genk ultimately won 6-4 on aggregate.
At the City Ground, Ola Aina provided an assist for Callum Hudson-Odoi in Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 defeat by Fenerbahce.

The result was however able to see them edge the Turkish giants 4-2 on aggregate after the 3-0 first leg win.
