Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will play two friendly matches against Chile and Australia as part of preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Afrosport reports.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the announcement on Monday, through its head of international competitions, Dayo Enebi Achor.
The seven-time African champions will take on tournament hosts Chile on Saturday, 20 September, before facing Australia three days later.
The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group F alongside Norway, Saudi Arabia and Colombia. They will begin their campaign against the Norwegians on 29 September at the Estadio Fiscal in Talca before facing Saudi Arabia on 2 October and Colombia on October 5.
Nigeria have finished as runners-up twice at the U-20 World Cup in 1989 and 2005. Aliyu Zubairu’s side reached the quarter-finals at the last edition in Argentina.
