Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Joao Paulinha from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, Afrosport reports.
According to BBC Sport, talks between the two clubs are advanced, while an agreement in principle is also in place with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Paulinha previously played in the Premier League with rival London club Fulham between 2022 and 2024, making 79 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing one assist before joining Bayern for £42.3 million last summer.
He however failed to establish himself at the Allianz Arena, making just 25 appearances in all competitions, the bulk of them coming off the bench, with just six starts in the Bundesliga.
The 30-year-old will become the sixth summer signing after Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel, Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai, and Mohammed Kudus.
Tottenham defeated North London rivals Arsenal 1-0 in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong.
