The 63-year-old has also recalled midfielders Isco and Gavi to the team after lengthy absences. Gavi last played for Spain in November 2023 before an anterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him for several months.
Isco, meanwhile, returns to the national team fold after a six-year absence. The 32-year-old enjoyed a brilliant individual season with Real Betis, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in 32 appearances as they reached the Conference final and finished sixth in La Liga.
Spain saw off the Netherlands 5-4 on penalties in the quarterfinals after both sides played out a 3-3 draw in regulation time.
La Roja will be hoping to beat France in the semi-final, with the Nations League final scheduled to take place in Munich on Sunday, 8 June, while the third-place match will take place in Stuttgart on the same day.
