Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has insisted that Mohamed Salah is not distracted despite the uncertainty surrounding his future at Anfield, Afrosport reports.
The Egyptian superstar’s contract is up at the end of the season and expressed his displeasure that there have not been positive talks on the matter, going further to suggest he was more out than in.
Salah’s comments infuriated club legend Jamie Carragher who felt they were selfish but Slot does not believe there is any issue with the former Roma winger.
“He [Carragher] said he was one of the five best players Liverpool ever had and I completely agree with him, which is not an easy thing because we had so many great players at this club. I don’t think it distracts Mo at all, maybe it even brings the best out of him if you look at his performances until now,” Slot said ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Liverpool.

The Dutch tactician added: “I talk to Mo about what I expect from him, like I do with all the other players, and he is in a good place at the moment. I’ve said before, I’m not distracted at all by his comments and I don’t feel his team-mates are.”
Salah is Liverpool’s top scorer this season with 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 competitive games.
