Jude Bellingham has been named in Real Madrid’s squad for Tuesday’s Champions League opener against Marseille, with the midfielder set to make his long-awaited return from injury, Afrosport reports.
The 22-year-old underwent surgery in July to repair a persistent shoulder problem and has not featured for club or country since the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer.
Bellingham originally sustained the injury in 2023, dislocating his shoulder during a La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano. The issue continued to affect him throughout last season before surgery was deemed necessary.

The England international returned to full training last week and has now been included in Xabi Alonso’s 23-man squad for the Bernabéu showdown, handing Real a significant boost as they begin their European campaign.
Bellingham joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund in a £115 million move in the summer of 2023 and made an immediate impact, scoring 23 goals in 43 appearances as Madrid lifted both the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy.
However, last season proved more testing. He managed 15 goals in 58 appearances as Madrid were pipped to the domestic crown by Barcelona and eliminated from the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Arsenal.
