Postecoglou ready to help Nottingham Forest win trophies

New Nottingham Forest head coach Ange Postecoglou believes he can help the club win trophies just as he has done for much of his managerial career, Afrosport reports.

The Australian tactician replaced Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed after having differences with club owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The Greek billionaire has highlighted Postecoglou’s track record of winning trophies at Tottenham Hotspur, Celtic, Yokohama Marinos and the Australia national team as a reason for bringing him to the City Ground.

Forest last won the EFL Cup as a top flight team in 1990 and will be participating in the Europa League, their first European outing in 30 years.

Postecoglou helped Tottenham win the Europa League last season, ending a 17-year trophy, and also affirming his claim of always winning titles in his second season at all club’s he’s managed.

“I love winning things. That’s what I’ve done,” he told Forest’s YouTube channel.

“I get a sense that the club wants more and that’s certainly what I want, so I think it’s a really exciting time.

“I’m honoured and I’m humbled, but more importantly I’m determined to make sure this football club takes its rightful place.”

Postecoglou’s first game as Forest boss will be against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
