Patrick Dorgu says he is looking forward to working with Ruben Amorim after completing a transfer from Lecce to Manchester United, Afrosport reports.

The 20-year-old Denmark international, who is of Nigerian heritage, is the only major signing of the January transfer window by the Red Devils.

The wingback position has been top priority for Amorim since he became head coach in November as he has consistently played with a back three.

Dorgu is capable of playing on either flank and believes Amorim’s tactics suit him very well.

“It feels amazing to be part of the family,” he told the club website. “I’m very excited to get going.

“I have heard about the incredible support and I’m happy to be one of the players of United now.

“It’s a huge club. It’s the biggest club in England and I’m really looking forward to working with the new manager [Ruben Amorim] and I feel the system suits me really well. So I’m excited to be here.”

Dorgu also set his ambition of being full integrated into the United setup under Amorim.

“We’re still in a lot of cup competitions so, of course, to win the cup games,” he added. “And, of course, to win as many Premier League games as possible.

“My ambition is just to play a lot of games to be a great part of the United family and just to keep pushing and improve my potential.”

Dorgu could be in line to make his Manchester United debut against Leicester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night at Old Trafford.
