Former Chelsea and Nigeria player John Obi Mikel is of the view that the Blues will try to sign Victor Osimhen in January after a deal on deadline day of the summer transfer window fell through, Afrosport reports.
Osimhen’s parent club Napoli had agreed a sale to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli but the the deal fell over an extra demand from Napoli.
Chelsea then jumped in, but could not agree personal terms with Osimhen, as they were only prepared to offer him four million euros per season in wages.
Mikel speaking on his Obi One Podcast said: “I think if we have to pick this back up again in January or next summer, we know where we are.
โWe know where weโve stopped and itโs just the little details that need to be finalised and the deal will be done.โ
Osimhen ultimately joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan after the bulk of the European transfer window had closed.
