NPFL: Enyimba go top after comeback win over Bendel Insurance

Enyimba FC staged a dramatic comeback on Sunday to defeat Bendel Insurance 3-2 in front of a packed home crowd, including Abia State Governor Alex Otti and members of his cabinet in Aba, Afrosport reports.

The visitors stunned the hosts with an early goal in the second minute, but Enyimba equalised through Abiodun Joseph in the 18th minute.

Despite Bendel Insurance retaking the lead in the 59th minute, Enyimba rallied again with a penalty from Kalu Nweke in the 66th minute, before Chidera Michael netted the winner in the 69th minute.

The victory ensured Enyimba returned to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table with 11 points from five matches.

Elsewhere, Nasarawa United earned an impressive 2-1 away win over Bayelsa United, with goals from Ekeson Okorie and Collins Onovuke securing all three points.

El-Kanemi Warriors edged Warri Wolves 1-0, thanks to a solitary strike from Muktar Ismail, Niger Tornadoes were in fine form, defeating Ikorodu City 4-2.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars picked up their first win of the season, overcoming Kun Khalifat FC 2-1. Gali Falke and Sodiq Ibrahim were on target for the Oluyole Warriors.
