Nigerian forward Josh Maja has been named in the Ligue 2 team of the 2022–23 season following an impressive outing in the French second division.
The 24-year-old, who has 16 goals and six assists in 37 league games this season, has been vital in Bordeaux’s fight for promotion back to the French top-flight.
Maja is currently third on the Ligue 2 scoring chart behind FC Caen’s Alexandre Mendy (19 goals) and Metz’s Georges Mikautadze (20 goals).
Les Girondins are presently third in the league standings, tied on 69 points with Metz, with one game remaining before the end of the season.
Maja and Bordeaux will take on Rodez in their final league game of the campaign this weekend, and they will be looking to win that game and hope second-place Metz loses to SC Bastia in order to secure promotion back to Ligue 1
