New AS Roma signing Leon Bailey suffered a muscle injury during his first training session with the club on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
The 28-year-old joined the Giallorossi on loan from Aston Villa and picked up the injury just a few hours after his unveiling.
Roma, in a statement, said Bailey suffered a myotendinous injury of the right rectus femoris on Wednesday and will need further diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the injury and how long he will be sidelined for.
“Leon Bailey sustained a suspected myotendinous injury of the right rectus femoris at the end of a training session on Wednesday, August 20,” read the statement.
“The player will undergo further diagnostic tests to determine the exact extent of the injury in the coming hours.
“Bailey has already begun rehabilitation treatment at the Fulvio Bernardini training centre.”
