NBA: Suns, Booker agree to historic two-year, $145 million extension

NBA: Devin Booker becomes Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer

The Phoenix Suns have reached an agreement with two-time Olympic gold medallist Devin Booker on a two-year, $145-million contract extension, Afrosport reports.

The new deal, which is the highest annual salary in NBA history, ensures Booker will remain with the Suns through the 2029-30 season. The four-time All-Star now has a total of five years and $316 million on his contract with the franchise.

Booker has played all his 10 seasons in Phoenix since he was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft and agrees to his third contract extension with the franchise.

The 28-year-old, who is the leading scorer in the Suns’ franchise history, has averaged at least 25 points in each of the past seven seasons and averaged 25.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists across 75 contests last season.

The Suns had a 36-46 record last season, finishing 11th in the Western Conference and missing out on the playoffs.
