NBA: Knick’s Achiuwa ruled out for up to a month with hamstring injury

The New York Knicks have announced that Precious Achiuwa has suffered a strained left hamstring injury and will be out between two to four weeks, Afrosport reports.

The Memphis Grizzlies alumni signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Knicks in the offseason after spending last season with the Raptors and Knicks.

The 6-foot-8 Achiuwa suffered the injury late in Friday’s preseason finale against the Washington Wizards.

The 25-year-old, who recorded 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting (2-for-3 from three) and snagged 16 rebound against the Charlotte Hornets, averaged 7.6 points, a career-high 7.2 rebounds and a personal best 1.1 assists in 24.2 minutes per game, in 49 games with the Knicks last season.
