Morocco’s Amine Adli is set for a spell on the sidelines as the Bayer Leverkusen forward will miss the rest of the year following a leg injury he suffered in their 1-1 draw at Brest in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old, who came on midway through the second half at Stade du Roudourou was replaced just 18 minutes later by Martin Terrier in the 81st minute as he was wriggling in pain after a tackle.
Leverkusen on Thursday confirmed that Adli fractured his left fibula and is not expected to be back until January 2025 as he will be undergoing surgery.
We will be without Amine Adli for the rest of this year. The attacker fractured his left fibula during last night’s draw against Brest and is not expected to be back until January 2025. 😔
Keep the head up Amine, you’ll be back soon! 🙏 pic.twitter.com/OPdLNrEZVG

The Moroccan has featured in all 12 of Leverkusen’s matches in all competitions this season, and has yet to score or assist a goal.
His injury comes at a bad period for Leverkusen, who are also without Nigerian forward Victor Boniface, who was involved in a car accident last weekend.
The German champions, fourth in the Bundesliga standings, are faced with five games in the next 16 days, and will be away at the Weserstadion to take on Werder Bremen on Saturday, October 26.
