Michelle Agyemang has returned from her loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion to Arsenal to continue her recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Afrosport reports.

The 19-year-old England forward of Ghanaian heritage has been ruled out for the rest of the season after she ruptured her ACL on international duty with the Lionesses in October.

Agyemang joined Brighton for a second loan spell, starting five of the Seagulls’ six games in the Women’s Super League (WSL), scoring one goal in a 1-0 win over Everton.

“It was a real privilege to welcome Michelle back in the summer and work with her for another season,” Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic said.

“Naturally, we’re disappointed that her second loan spell with the club has come to an end, but her rehab and mental wellbeing must remain the priority.

“For someone so young, her talent on the pitch and her strength of character off it are truly remarkable. She has been a leader within our squad, and we’re confident she’ll be back on the pitch very soon.”

Agyemang made headlines at the 2025 Women’s Euro championship in Switzerland when she scored late goals against Sweden and Italy in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively.

It ultimately handed the Lionesses back-to-back titles after defeating Spain in the final.
