Jean-Philippe Mateta has called for greater team chemistry within the Crystal Palace squad after their 2-0 win over London rivals Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, Afrosport reports.
The France forward of DR Congo heritage, put the Eagles in front in the 30th minute off an assist from Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma before Nathan Collins scored an own goal in the 51st minute.
It was back-to-back victories for Palace having going four without a win after their run of 19 games unbeaten stretching back to the previous campaign, and Mateta wants more wins on board.
“I feel fantastic,” he said. “We needed that win and I’m very happy.
“I see Jefferson take the ball and as a striker you have this instinct to move. I touch the ball with the right part of my head and then I knew it was a goal.
“We need to keep trusting each other. And it’s all about the team, I can’t do this by myself.
“It’s fantastic [to be inside the dressing room] it’s always a pleasure to play with this team. It’s a good atmosphere inside and I hope we win more games.
“We’ll try to win as many as possible.”
