Liverpool reject £58.5m Bayern Munich bid for Luis Diaz

Liverpool reject Bayern Munich approach for Diaz

Liverpool have turned down a fresh offer from German giants Bayern Munich for Colombian forward Luis Díaz, Afrosport reports.

Bayern reportedly tabled a bid in the region of £58.5 million for the winger on Tuesday, but the Reds wasted no time in rejecting the approach.

Díaz still has two years left on his current deal at Anfield, and Liverpool are not in the mood to part ways with him just yet.

The Merseyside club had previously made it clear—both to Bayern and other interested suitors—that the 28-year-old was not on the market. Barcelona and Saudi big-spenders Al-Nassr had also made enquiries about his availability.

As it stands, Liverpool’s position remains firm. According to reports, unless an offer north of £80 million lands on their table, they’re not budging.

Bayern, meanwhile, have Diaz high on their summer wish-list and are expected to return with a second bid for the former Porto forward, who moved to Anfield in 2022.

Still, Bayern are keen and have not given up just yet as. They are also expected to return with an improved bid. However, with Díaz settled, thriving, and adored by the Kop faithful, prising him away from Anfield won’t be easy.

Díaz, who arrived from FC Porto in 2022, has grown into a key figure at Anfield. Last season, he played a major role in Liverpool’s second Premier League title win, netting 13 goals in 36 games.

Since pulling on the famous red shirt, he’s clocked over 140 appearances, with 41 goals and 23 assists to his name. His honours list with the Reds already includes the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.
