Liverpool boss Slot unbothered by Salah’s dip in form

Panathinaikos appoint Rafa Benitez as new head coach

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is unbothered by Mohamed Salah’s dip in form, stating it is the last thing he needs to worry about, Afrosport reports.

The 33-year-old Egyptian has struggled to find the back of the net consistently this season with just three goals in 12 competitive games.

It was a contrast to the previous campaign when he netted 29 goals and also provided 18 assists as Liverpool won a second Premier League title.

Salah started from the bench in Wednesday’s 5-1 UEFA Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt, and cut a frustrated figure after the match, leading the questions about his future after singing a two-year extension in the summer.

“The main thing is that he has always scored goals for Liverpool. The last thing I worry about is Mo scoring goals again,” Slot said ahead of Saturday’s game with Brentford.

“He’s done that his entire life, and I expect him to do that again in the coming weeks and months.

“Quite a few changes in the squad mean everyone needs to find new connections.”

Slot confirmed that Alexander Isak is doubtful for the Brentford game after picking an injury that is not too serious in the win at Frankfurt.

Ryan Gravenberch is also doubtful while Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out after picking up a hamstring injury in the Frankfurt game. Goalkeeper Alisson remains sidelined.
