Leicester City’s Fatawu undergoes successful surgery for ACL injury

Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu has undergone surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of the season, Afrosport reports.

The 20-year-old returned home early from international duty with Ghana after he was substituted in the first half of their 1-1 draw with Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last Friday.

He was pictured wearing a brace on his right knee and has now posted on social media about his successful surgery.

“Alhamdulilai all glory be to Almighty Allah my Surgery was successful and I just want to tell you that I am okay and I am feeling good after the surgery I want to thank everyone for your best wishes,” Fatawu posted on Instagram.

His absence is seen as a big blow in Leicester’s hopes of securing their Premier League survival status having also lost Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew to what is expected to be a lengthy knee injury.
