Joshua Kimmich signs Bayern contract extension until 2029

German midfielder Joshua Kimmich has signed a four-year contract extension to remain at Bayern Munich until 2029, Afrosport sports.

Kimmich, whose deal at Bayern was due to expire at the end of this season, joined the Bavarians from RB Leipzig in 2015.

The 30-year-old Germany international has scored 43 goals and provided 114 assists in 429 appearances for Bayern.

“At FC Bayern I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals. That is what my decision was based on,” said Kimmich.

“For me at the moment, there is no better package of team-mates, coaching staff and club environment in order to achieve maximum success. I feel at home here and I am not finished yet.”

Kimmich, across his first 10 years, has won 20 titles with the Munich club, including eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, and one Champions League.

The Bayern No. 6 has played 39 times this season under Vincent Kompany, scoring one goal and providing 10 assists.

He is the latest player to sign a contract extension with the club, joining Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala, and Alphonso Davies.

The record German champions are top of the Bundesliga standings with 61 points, eight points ahead of champions Bayer Leverkusen. They are at Union Berlin in the league this weekend with a chance to increase their lead at the top.
