Ismael Bennacer has completed a loan move from Serie A giants AC Milan to French Ligue 1 powerhouse Olympique Marseille, Afrosport reports.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side were hoping to bolster their midfield before the close of the January transfer window but the Rossoneri were unwilling to let the Algeria international go without having a replacement.
The deal was however able to go through after Milan secured the signature of Warren Bondo from Monza.
“AC Milan announces that Ismael Bennacer has joined Olympique Marseille on loan with an option to buy,” read a statement on the Rossoneri website.
“The Club wishes Ismael the very best for the remainder of the season.”
The loan deal of Bennacer will run until the end of the season with Marseille having the option to purchase him permanently for a reported €15 million.
