Alexander Isak has been left out of Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia due to a minor thigh injury, Afrosport reports.
The 25-year-old’s Swedish striker’s future at St. James’ Park is uncertain having been heavily linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool in a potential British transfer record worth £120 million.
Isak, who scored 27 goals in 42 competitive games last term, was left out of the Magpies’ 4-0 defeat at Celtic on Saturday with manager Eddie Howe asserting he was still going to be part of the squad for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
He was however not named in the 30-man squad list that will travel to Singapore and South Korea, with Lewis Hall, who has been battling with a foot injury since February, included.
Eddie Howe has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, however Alexander Isak misses out with a minor thigh injury.
Lewis Hall is available following an injury lay-off and could feature in South Korea.

Newcastle will face Arsenal on Sunday in Singapore before travelling to South Korea to take on a K-League All-Star team three days later and will play Tottenham Hotspur on August 3.
They will commence the season proper against Aston Villa away from home in the Premier League on August 16.
