Iheanacho joins Middlesbrough on loan from Sevilla

Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Middlesbrough on loan from Spanish La Liga side Sevilla until the end of the season, Afrosport reports.

The Super Eagles forward joined the Andalusian giants as a free agent after his contract with Leicester City expired last summer.

He has however failed to nail a regular berth in the Sevilla starting XI, playing 11 games in total, scoring three goals.

“An agreement has been reached with Middlesbrough FC for the loan of Kelechi Iheanacho until the end of the season,” read a statement on the Sevilla website.

“The club would like to thank Iheanacho for his efforts in the first half of the season and wish him the best of luck at Middlesbrough.”


It will be the second stint for the 28-year-old in the Championship having featured 23 times last season, scoring five goals and providing  one assist as Leicester won promotion back into the Premier League.
