Snoop Dogg says he was driven by the underdog story of Swansea City after becoming a co-owner of the Welsh outfit, Afrosport reports.
The American hip-hop artist was announced as co-owner on Thursday when he was part of the team’s home kit launch for the 2025-26 season.
He joins the likes of AC Milan and Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who recently became a part-owner.
Snoop, in his first interview, stated that the trajectory of how the club came to prominence drew him, and he is ready to help them get back to the top.
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City
“The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.
“I’m proud to be part of Swansea City. I am going to do all I can to help the club, and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBS.”
Swansea City is delighted to announce global rap superstar and multi-platinum selling artist @SnoopDogg has become the club’s latest high-profile co-owner and investor.

Swansea first gained Premier League promotion in 2011, the first club from Wales to do that, and maintained their top-flight status for seven seasons, finishing a record-best ninth in 2013, while they won the EFL Cup in the same year.
They however returned to the Championship in 2018 and have been there ever since, coming close to top-flight promotion in 2021 when they lost to Brentford in the play-off final.
