Cody Gakpo has committed his future to Liverpool by signing a long-term contract extension with the reigning Premier League champions, Afrosport reports.
The 26-year-old Netherlands International of Togolese heritage had a contract that was due to expire in the summer of 2028, however the length of the new extension is not known.
Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and has since scored 42 goals and provided 19 assists in 131 competitive matches.
“It feels amazing to extend the contract here at this beautiful club,” he told the club website.
“I’m very grateful and hopefully I can give back many more beautiful moments.
“I feel at home, my family feels at home and that’s also a big decision always. I’m very grateful that I can extend.”

Gakpo has won the EFL Cup and Premier League in his time on Merseyside so far.
He already has one goal in the 4-2 season-opening win against Bournemouth while he provided assists for compatriot Ryan Gravenberch and new signin Hugo Ekitike in the 3-2 win at 10-man Newcastle United last time out.
Liverpool will next face title rivals Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.
