Free agent Callum Wilson opens talks with West Ham

Callum Wilson is currently in talks with West Ham United as a free agent, Afrosport reports.

The 33-year-old England forward left Newcastle United last month after his contract came to an end and failed to agree a new deal.

He has since been of interest to a number of clubs in the Premier League as well as Major League Soccer in the United States.

West Ham have already signed Jean-Clair Todibo, Senegal’s El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters and Daniel Cummings this summer as they look to improve from last season’s 14th place finish.

Wilson, who scored 49 goals in 130 appearances for Newcastle, will be seen as a good addition to the Hammers attack that has already lost the likes of Michail Antonio and Mohammed Kudus on a free transfer and to Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

The East London outfit will commence their Premier League campaign away at newly-promoted Sunderland on August 16.
