Kalidou Koulibaly registered his name on the scoresheet in extra time as Al Hilal got the better of Manchester City with a 4-3 win in the FIFA Club World Cup round of 16 on Monday in Orlando, Afrosport reports.
City headed into the tie at Camping World Stadium as the only side with a 100% record in the tournament after winning all their group stage games.
They were in front after nine minutes courtesy of captain Bernardo Silva from close range but Al Hilal were able to comeback through Brazilian duo Malcom and Marcos Leonardo in the 46th and 52nd minute respectively.
That lead was however short-lived as Erling Haaland made it 2-2 for City in the 55th minute to ultimately force extra time.
More goals flowed in the additional 30 minutes, firstly through Senegal defender Koulibaly who headed in from Ruben Neves’ corner to make it 3-2 to Al Hilal in the 94th minute.
The lead was again short-lived as Phil Foden levelled for 3-3 10 minutes later after connecting with Rayan Cherki’s cross.

Al Hilal however had the final say as Leonardo pounced on a rebound from an Ederson save in the 112th minute to put the ball in and send the Saudi Pro League giants through to the Club World Cup quarter-finals where they will face Fluminense of Brazil.
