Fenerbahce have confirmed the appointment of Domenico Tedesco as new head coach on a two-year contract until 2027, Afrosport reports.
The former Belgium coach replaces Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by the Turkish giants on 29 August, after failing to qualify for the Champions League league phase.
They succumbed to a 1-0 aggregate defeat to Benfica, ending Mourinho’s one-year stint at the club. The 62-year-old led the Yellow Canaries to a second-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last season.
“Domenico Tedesco has been appointed as the Technical Director of our Club’s Professional Football A Team,” a club statement read. “Details regarding the signing ceremony of our new technical staff will be shared later.”
Tedesco, however, took charge of Belgium in February 2023, but was dismissed in January 2025 following a run of disappointing results.

The 39-year-old has previously managed Schalke, Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig. He will be assisted at Fenerbahce by former club captain and defender Gokhan Gonul.
The Italian arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday and is expected to be on the sidelines for Fenerbahce’s next league game against Trabzonspor on Sunday.
