Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that the second driver seat remains open beyond the summer break, Afropsort reports.
Speculation remains on who will partner reigning world champion Max Verstappen, whose future was uncertain at some point, but he has confirmed that he will race for the energy-drink-backed team next year.
Red Bull have shuffled between Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda since the end of last year, with the latter’s current form not inspiring, after scoring points in just three races this year, which has left him in a distance 18th in the drivers’ championship.
Marko stated that Red Bull will continue to evaluate drivers for the remainder of the 2025 season and beyond.
“We traditionally make our driver evaluations after the summer break, and then it will be decided how the driver line-up for next year will look, perhaps partly even later,” he said.
“At present, everything is open… We’re evaluating performances. No decision has been made either way.”
