Former Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is in talks with the English Football Association over vacant national team head coach role, Afrosport reports.
The 51-year-old, who recently was in charge of Bayern, is among the favourites to take up the England job full time following the resignation of Gareth Southgate after the European Championship this summer.
The German left his position at Bayern in May after failing to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in over a decade, as well as the Champions League and domestic cup. He also reportedly had major disagreements with the hierarchy at the Bavarian club that led to his dismissal.
Tuchel led PSG to a domestic quadruple in 2019-20, won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and in a short spell at Bayern, guided the club to the Bundesliga title in 2023.
England Under-21 coach Lee Carsley is currently in charge of the Three Lions in interim capacity and he guided them to a win and defeat in the UEFA Nations League this month.
