EFC 128: Sekeletu relinquishes title after missing weight for featherweight bout

The drama of fight week reached its climax at the official weigh-in for EFC 128, where history repeated itself in stunning fashion.

Interim featherweight champion Ken Sekeletu failed to make the 145-pound limit, coming in at 147 pounds, and as a result, has been forced to vacate his title.

Despite the setback, Sekeletu will still step into the Hexagon to face Billy Oosthuizen, who made weight and remains the only fighter eligible to win the championship. If Sekeletu wins, the belt will stay vacant.

In a twist reminiscent of EFC 127, when heavyweight champion Elvis Moyo also missed weight, fight fans can expect even more drama when the two face off in Thursday’s main event.
