Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has completed a permanent move to Italian club AS Roma, Afrosport reports.
Babajide joins Roma on a two-year deal until 2027 after departing Spanish Liga F club UD Tenerife in May, following the expiration of her contract.
“It’s an honour to be honest,” Babajide told club media after her move was made official. “It’s a Champions League club, a prestigious club as well, so I’m very happy to be here.
“Just being in Rome alone is precious, it’s an amazing experience. Even with the team; gelling well with the girls, securing the Champions League spot, trying to win as much silverware as possible in the league and cup games.”

The 27-year-old moves to Italy after three years in Spain with Real Betis and Tenerife. She began her career in England, donning the colours of Millwall, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
“I’m more of a direct, speedy, technical player,” the Nigerian said when asked about her style. “Down the wing, I love to beat players 1v1, cross the ball in, as well as get shots and goals.
“Winning silverware, I feel like that’s the most important thing for the team: to win as much trophies as possible. Personally, I want to contribute towards the team and do better than I did last season.”
Babajide has been handed the number 30 shirt at Roma, where she will link up with compatriot Shukurat Oladipo, who joined the Giallorossi in February.
Both players, however, are currently with the Super Falcons at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Babajide has been one of Nigeria’s best players at the tournament, scoring and assisting on her debut in a 3-0 win over Tunisia. She is also expected to start in the quarter-finals when the Super Falcons take on Zambia on Friday, 18 July, at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.
